Elogy to Charlie Kirk

It is a sunny day in Utah Valley University and Charlie Kirk, 31 years young, father of two small kids, founder of Turning Point USA, podcaster, Trump supporter, speaker, is about to talk about what he loves most: freedom of speech. The world stopped breathing when, in the middle of a sentence, a bullet hit him at exactly that place where his vocal cords are placed. Were placed. He fell down. He was raced to the hospital. And then he died. I can't even believe it while I am writing these words.
His voice, conservative, anti-woke, filled with the commonsense that obviously and ultimately got lost within the pandemic years came not only from his heart… it also spoke right into the middle of America's republican heart. His friends and followers were countless. But it needed only one enemy to silence him forever. That's what at least the lunatic thought who gunned him down.
Since then – it's less than 24 hours now – Charlie Kirk's voice rings louder than ever before. Unlike most politicians – and in Europe we have a never seen before pandemic of lies, no matter the party – he had the civil courage to address, no matter what, all the disgraceful ways of cheating, cancelling, gaslighting, silencing, threatening or whatever the method is called to kill peoples' opinions.
FRIENDS IN SPIRIT
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the voice for a new concept of health in the US, was one of Charlie Kirk's close friends, he says. Since months, I thought Kennedy would be the first to be assassinated because he is and acts and thinks pro science. In his mind, like in Charlie Kirk's whose spirit is shining down from heaven now on all of us, freedom not only of speech, but also of thinking for oneself, needs a fresh start.
This attempt is so terribly obvious and necessary, even more after what happened to Americans during the last decades: Health wise, they are the sickest of all Western nations, in their bodies and also in their souls. For 20 % only drugs like Xanax or Prozac and whatever can keep their despair at bay. Unless it can't anymore, like yesterday when from a distance of 180 meters someone killed a young republican from a rooftop, because the killer, hailed by many on the internet, thought there is not enough space on this planet for two different opinions.
That's the same point of dissent the representatives of the US Senate tried to prove in the great hearing about MAHA. The new health initiative and its vaccine investigations and its attempts to, for the first time in history, have vaccines get tested before they are stabbed into infants, outrages Americans as much as the request for free speech. Charly Kirk was the proxy, by challenging the woke ideas and the censors of speech ideas and all those sickening ideas about caging people into their fears and angst and depression and turn them into those robots George Orwell described in "1984". And now he won't come home anymore to Erika, his beautiful wife whom he married only four years ago. And to his three year old daughter. And to his one year old son.
I hope your voice will be the loudest on earth since the Kennedy assassinations, even though you didn't share the same political party. But you shared the party of humans like all the rest of us.
RIP, Charlie Kirk.
